Ohio Wesleyan's has been inviting the community to explore and celebrate art since 2002. Its exhibition openings are campus and community events, where students and community members mingle with faculty and artists, experiencing firsthand the world and the work of professional artists. The museum's permanent collection of almost 3,000 works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Frank Stella, and Berenice Abbott serves as a rich resource for scholars.
The Ross Art Museum's 2025-2026 exhibitions are scheduled to include:
Aug. 19-Sept. 28 – A celebration of the New York Arts Program with "Costumes for Survival" by Emilie Clark and "Threads" by Skip Brea, at Ohio Wesleyan's Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The exhibitions will include a presentation during the Fall 2025 OWU Connection Conference from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by a free public closing reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 18. The New York Arts Program, administered by Ohio Wesleyan, enables college students to spend a semester living and interning in the Big Apple. Oct. 14-March 29, 2026 – Michelle Stitzlein: "Demarcations and Delineations," at Ohio Wesleyan's Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Stitzlein uses recycled materials and found objects, including old garden hoses, electrical wire, computer cables, piano keys, mini blinds, and more to create imagery and abstractions from her imagination. Her work "venerates imperfections found in the handmade, the patched/mended and secondhand, and pays deference to nature and habitat enduring continual loss and destruction due to the industrial pursuit of new and raw resources." April 11-June 28, 2026 – Rod Bouc Landscapes, at Ohio Wesleyan's Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The exhibit will open with a free public reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, in connection with the OWU Fine Arts graduating senior exhibition. Bouc uses oil sticks, charcoal, and pastel for printmaking and oil sticks for monotypes depicting Midwest landscapes. "The challenge becomes how to apply the paint and charcoal in interesting ways," Bouc says. "Because of my interest in surface, color, and composition, the work sometimes moves from the representational to abstraction. In this way, I can achieve a new synthesis of representation that includes saturated color and attention to surface." Learn more at . Coming this fall! Environmental Talk Series – The Richard M. Ross Art Museum will collaborate with Ohio Wesleyan's to launch a discussion-and-talk series featuring artists, activists, and scholars and their efforts to change the world around them for the better.
