Introduction to the Department

Whether you want to be a mathematics or computer science major, use mathematics or computer science in other disciplines, or simply want to explore the field, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers challenging and exciting opportunities for study. The atmosphere is supportive, informal, and friendly.

Department Features

• We offer two programs leading to a B.A. degree: one in Mathematics and one in Computer Science.
• Graduates in both majors are well-trained technically and have the advantage of a liberal arts education to help put their technical knowledge into a broader context.
• Graduates from the department have many options available to them, including careers in industry, business, teaching, and other areas where critical thinking is valued. Or, if you'd rather pursue an advanced degree, opportunities for further training in graduate school are abundant.
