The Rice Summer Scholarship was established about 100 years ago by former students of Professor E. L. Rice in recognition of his 30 years of distinguished service to ³Ô¹ÏÍø. Funds are granted annually to one or two students to help pay the tuition for a class or research experience at a recognized summer field station. The amount of the stipend depends on the number of scholarships granted and endowment earnings. Recent awards have been between $500-$1,000.
