We offer optional housing for students when residential communities are closed for Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks. There is a cost associated with remaining on campus over winter break.

Break housing is available when residential facilities are closed for Thanksgiving and spring break for no additional fee with prior registration and approval.
Winter break housing is available on a limited basis for an additional fee ($25/night). Students will be expected to consolidate during winter break to one residence hall, house, or Small Living Unit and will not have access during the winter break to their fall/spring semester housing assignments.

There are no food services available during break periods. Additionally, no overnight guests or visitors are permitted during break periods and all University policies must be followed. Students who plan to remain on campus after the closing, during the break, or return early from the break must register with the Residential Life Office. Any break charges are charged to the OWU student's account.
Any student registering after the break registration deadline will be charged a $25 late fee, plus applicable per night charges. Any student remaining on campus, over any portion of the break, without prior approval and registration with the Residential Life Office will be referred to the student conduct process.
During Thanksgiving, winter, and spring break periods, the residential communities are officially closed during the dates listed above. Students who require break housing (i.e. student athletes and those with extenuating circumstances) over one of these break periods must by the deadline. The Registration Form works best from a computer and not a hand held device.
